Post Doctoral Fellowship at Stanford University

Job Description

Stanford University seeks to hire a post-doctoral fellow to use near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) to study cortical mechanisms of speech perception in pediatric cochlear implant recipients. This translational research will involve using commercial fNIRS system with custom analysis software in a large population of deaf children that hear through cochlear implants. This position is available within the lab of John Oghalai (http://oghalailab.stanford.edu/), part of a strong auditory research group within the School of Medicine. Excellent core facilities and resources are available.

Job Requirements

A Ph.D. is required. Successful candidates will have conducted creative and original research in neuroscience. Experience with programming in MATLAB is preferred. Past experience with fNIRS, fMRI, or other brain imaging modalities is highly valued, but not necessary. Start date: Immediate. Term: 1-2 years.

Post Doctoral Fellowship at Stanford University

Job Description

Stanford University seeks to hire a post-doctoral fellow to use novel optical techniques to study speech encoding within the inner ear. This research project will involve using a custom-designed optical coherence tomography (OCT) system to study mouse models of hearing and hearing loss. This position is available within the lab of John Oghalai (http://oghalailab.stanford.edu/), part of a strong auditory research group within the School of Medicine. Excellent core facilities and resources are available.

Job Requirements

A Ph.D. is required. Successful candidates will have conducted creative and original research in either neurophysiology or signal processing. Experience with programming in MATLAB, Labview, or Python is preferred. Past experience with animal research highly valued, but not necessary. Start date: Immediate. Term: Up to 2 years.
